    • Dr Chua obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 1982 from the National University of Singapore, Master of Medicine (Obstetrics and Gynaecology) in 1988, and PhD in 1999. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetrician and Gynaecologists (United Kingdom) and
      a Fellow of the Academy of Singapore, Singapore.

      After rotating through the obstetric, reproductive medicine and oncology divisions in the Senior Residency programme at the National University Hospital, she was awarded a fellowship in 1990 to spend a year as clinical research fellow at the University of Oxford. During this time, she was in Professor Christopher Redman’s High Risk Obstetric Unit in the Nuffield Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the John Radcliffe Hospital and was involved in specialist antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care of women with complicated pregnancies. Upon returning to Singapore, she joined the National University of Singapore as a faculty member in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology.

      While teaching and conducting research in the university, she was also on the teaching faculty for many obstetric programmes and symposiums in Singapore. During her time at the National University Hospital, she was in charge of the Labour Ward and Diabetic Clinic, as well as the Medical Disorders and High Risk Clinics. Since establishing her private practice, she has served on various professional committees.

      Dr Chua has published extensively in prestigious international journals such as The Lancet (UK), British Journal of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Obstetrics & Gynecology (USA), European Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Biology, Australian and New Zealand Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and Asia Oceania Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (Japan). In addition to her international publications she has co-authored several chapters in obstetrics and gynaecology text books, and has contributed many papers to regional and local journals. She was awarded the 18th Benjamin Henry Sheares Memorial Lecture by The Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society of Singapore in 2000.

      She has been in private practice at Mt Elizabeth since 1998, and has established an extensive general obstetric and gynaecological practice. Her expertise in prenantal screening and diagnosis including first trimester screening, antenatal care as well as care during normal as well as difficult labour and delivery, has helped many mothers over many years. Dr Chua provides prenatal counselling as well as contraceptive advice and services. She has wide experience treating women with gynaecological problems including abnormal Pap smears and cervical abnormalities, abnormal bleeding, pelvic tumours including uterine fibroids and cysts, as well as problems in the menopause.

    • Dr Loh established his private practice at Mt Elizabeth since 2002, after 18 years of academic and clinical service at the National University of Singapore (NUS). His last held position was in NUS (2002) was Associate Professor at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

      His current practice focuses on reproductive surgery and medicine; in particular laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery for conditions such as endometriosis, fibroids and ovarian cysts. This is in addition to his general obstetrics and gynaecology practice.

      Dr Loh obtained his medical degree from the National University of Singapore in 1985, and his specialist qualifications from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (London) in 1990. He was awarded a fellowship to train in advanced laparoscopic surgery with the team of Professor Bruhat in Clermont-Ferrand, France between 1994 and 1995. He has been awarded Fellowship at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologist (London) in 2004.

      Upon his return to Singapore in 1995, Dr Loh organised and conducted regular courses in Gynaecological Laparoscopic and Hysteroscopic Surgery at the National University Hospital.
      He has also been active as teaching faculty for laparoscopic surgery and endometriosis in symposiums and congresses in the Asia-Pacific region. During his tenure at the National University of Singapore, he headed the Gynaecological Minimal Access Surgery programme at the Department of OB/GYN. At the same time, Dr Loh was also in charge of the Menopause Clinic, and played a key role in many Hormone Replacement Therapy studies on menopausal women in Singapore. He was a past president of the Menopause Research Society (Singapore).

      His publications in international journals included articles on laparoscopic surgery, surgical management of endometriosis, ovarian function, menopause management and hormone replacement therapy.
